Sacral Chakra & recipe

Celebrating Sacral Chakra

Our Sacral chakra (also known as Svadhisthana chakra) is represented in orange tones, and sits just below the naval. Sacral chakra is about relationships in all areas of life, home, work and so on (and including relationship with self), creativity, creative problem solving, balance (between yin and yang) and sensuality.

Sacral has strong connections to the water element (think of hydration, and nourishment of the fluids of the body), and is associated with hormones such as Progesterone, Estrogen, and Testosterone. Sacral chakra relates to the intestines, sexual organs and sciatic nerve. Due to its innervation in the lumbar area of the spine, this chakra connects to muscles around the hips, pelvis and upper legs (eg. abdominals, psoas major, adductors, gracilis and so on).

During the festive season we often spend more time with relatives, and learning to ‘relate’ to one another under sometimes joyous or sometimes stressful conditions. Additionally we might reflect on our relationship with ourself. Also we have creative freedom to choose gifts for loved ones, decorate our homes, and come up with new activities for the holiday period.

In the work environment, this chakra supports us in relating better to work mates and customers, and helps us with creative problem solving.

Orange coloured foods like mango, and spices like cinnamon support this chakra.

This salad will support and nourish you during the festive season, and is a rich delicious treat that is sure to impress. Buy organic where possible.

Remember that everything is energy, and so it follows when we consume food, we’re taking energy into our being. Decide what kind of energy you would like to bring into your-self.
